We haven't received our current gas bill yet. The last one was $34 (we don't heat the house, so gas is just for the stove, hot water heater and clothes dryer). It will be interesting to see what comes up next.

However, our current electric bill (Southern California Edison) is $144 and the previous month was only $90, a 60% increase. We used a little more electricity than usua. in December but not 60% more. .

Thars based on the Henry hub benchmark in Texas.

It cost 5-10x that in the western states.

Our SDGE bill was about 50 bucks more. I've got the wood burning stove cranked so we don't have to give them even more.

I used the exact same amount of natural gas and electricity in this January's bill (2023) as last January's bill (2022), 14 therms and 88 kWh.

Total bill was up 27.7% YoY.

However, only 6 of 30 were days covering the post New Year's rate increase. It's hard to know for sure, but I suspect my overall February 2023 bill will come in 60% - 80% higher than my February 2022 bill.

Currently about 3x, but that changes day-to-day.

Nevertheless, a downward trend @ Henry Hub is indicative of a downward trend in wholesale prices nationwide.
