China and India? What are you smoking. If anything it's Taiwan and South Korea.

Fix your outrageous taxes and stop suing companies. CA is no longer a place to open or run a business.
Since you seem to want to spread complete misinformation, I thought I would correct your post. So yeah, I guess Texas was able to have Dell and a calculator making company. Well done.

So your saying he lied....hmmm? Never seen that before.

It seems like the latest trend. There's another poster or two on here that write things like they're absolute facts, but most of the comments are either complete misinformation or simply opinions. It's either that, or they deflect down another rabbit hole. It's why you should challenge everything people say on the internet.

You’re not being very welcoming to our guest from Texas. Let’s see if he/she returns.

Its also possible that people have grown tired of the echo chamber in here (the CA forum and sub forums). The inability to see anything of value past the boarder from certain users is tiring. Yes - I understand there is ample CA hate out there, and defenses are high, but people in here live in the countries biggest glass house and throw boulders, then get defensive when there are challengers.

One fact that distinguishes California from other states is that California law proscribes non-compete clauses in employment agreements.

"A non-compete is not enforceable in the State of California. Under California Business and Professions Codes, the law prohibits an employer from restraining anyone who is engaged in legal practice or trade. Any existing non-compete agreements in California are considered null and void by courts."

https://www.contractscounsel.com/b/n...%20by%20courts.

The result is climate of opportunity as people continually seek the best deal for themselves to benefit from their skills. Your current employer cannot prevent you from moving on to enhance your career.

If you study the history of the semiconductor industry starting with Shockley Transistor you get Fairchild, National, Intel..etc.

Eh, that tends to be the typical response when people are just correcting misinformation. I have no idea why that is looked upon as 'taking something personally" or "being defensive". It's actually neither.

Honestly, what I don't get is people that have moved to other places, like Idaho and Georgia, not referring to just you, that have found their shangrila but are upset that we Californians are still happy here. To each their own.

Also, I used to work for Dell and am grateful for my time there. However, nothing about Dell is innovative other than their business model, which isn't actually something Michael invented. Dell also benefited from years of tax breaks from Round Rock. Not saying Dell hasn't been great for Central Texas, but innovation wasn't Dell's strength. Cheap computers and acquisitions were.
