For me the substance is lacking far behind the fanfare and careful posturing. Isn't this just old California politics as usual, where looking good is paramount above all else.

Well, he could either tell us what we want to hear (in which case we'll think he's just telling us what we want to hear) or tell us something we don't want to hear (in which case we'll hate him).

I personally hope he's wised up and seen the detriment to over-regulation here. We'll never know until he's in office and we get a chance to watch his actions.

Then again, even the best intended in office have to deal with the brats that are the legislature fighting them, so there's only so much they can do.
