There are many Americans who have, or want to move to Canada.
I am one who is thinking of it.
I have heard straight from the horse's mouth (Canadians) that their gov't can be pretty messed up too, but that all is treated fairly, pollution is taken seriously, and the health system is the best. I am from Ohio originally so I know it can get cold, I don't mind.
I have been to Canada, and this liberal, relaxed atmosphere is what I would love to be a part of.
If anymore has any info of a friend who may have moved to Canada, and what they went through, or how easy or difficult it can be, I would love to know.
This is not a debate on how Canada/America is better than the other, just looking for info.

I'm a second-generation American (from Canada) on my dad's side. I still have lots of friends, relatives, and colleagues in Canada.
There's lots of good and bad. Canada does take the environment seriously, and their healthcare system, while admittedly not perfect, is superior to anything in the United States (unless you're super rich).

Vancouver and Victoria are not that cold. Snow in the cities themselves is quite rare, though Vancouver is close enough to the mountains that you are within easy driving distance of snow.
Victoria is the prettiest city I've ever see, and Vancouver Island is the most gorgeous country in the world. Absolutely stunning.

Yea we went camping there and I was happy just to sit and look at it all, it was so beautiful, and Victoria blew me away. But my husband and kids got cedar itch in a lake there and wont go back!!! I warned them!

Personally, I'll take cedar itch over the fire ants, killer bees, flies, mosquitoes, West Nile virus, and various poisonous spiders found in the warmer climates of the US.
But hey, to each his or her own!
