17 North starts annual beer fest
The first of what 17 North plans to make an annual beer fest will be held on April 1st, but it's no April Fool's joke.
The breweries are 100% South Carolinian, with local stalwarts Palmetto, Westbrook, and Holy City joining forces with Myrtle Beach's New South Brewing, brand new Bluffton outfit Heirloom Brewing, and even some wares from everyone's favorite foamy facial hair gang.
A $20 beer pass will get you 8 five-ounce samples, and a sampling glass you can take home. $10 gets you a pass through the 17 North's BBQ Buffet. An advance ticket for $25 will get you both. Live music will be rocking all day, part of the proceeds will benefit East Cooper Community Outreach and Pet Helpers.
17 North Roadside kitchen is located at 3563 North Highway 17 in Mount Pleasant. Call them at (843) 606-2144 for more info.
Might attend it. We jsut came across a few cups we had from a few years of beerfests in Orlando. Over 100 breweries, it was a blast. Even better because we got drunk and then go rides at Universal.
That is cool, beacause the one I went to was 10 oz cups, with a fill line of 2 oz that usually got filled to about 5 oz, enough to sip and get a taste of the beer.
Since beer was mentioned, wanted to suggest the craft beer exchange at sunoco. Picked up some arrogant bastard and magic hat today.

I just noticed that at Sunoco. How does that work? Do you pour it in a bottle, or do you just get a cup of it? I have never seen draft beer at a gas station.

Same .. when I saw the sign the other day I had to take a double take and even then I thought maybe someone's sign had fallen off their truck .. lol.
I'm heading there today to try it out.
I'm a craft beer fiend and if the selection is at all decent .. well .. I'm close enough to a Sunoco that my penchant for good beer will be well taken care of ...
... side note .. Taps up in the Oakbrook Walmart Center is another good place with a great selection of both tap and bottled brews.
On topic ... I'll be doing everything I can to attend the 17 North Beer Fest
For anyone who was thinking about going, Livingsocial.com is offering tickets for the beer pass, food pass plus a mug to bring home for $37 (this is for a pair of tickets, they aren't offering singles).
The regular price for two tickets is $56.something, without the mug.
