Oh, how I miss Rita's! We lived near Philly for three years and loved going to Rita's in the summer.

I'm happy to hear there is one coming close (well, closer than Philly, lol)..

It is sooo tasty and refreshing on a hot summer night!

Are there reasonable numbers of people of Italian descent in Charlotte or is it like 1 in 100 people?

Obviously, the ratios won't be like they are in NY, Boston, Philly, etc., but are the numbers similar to what one might find in Alabama or North Dakota?

Birmingham, Alabama, has a HUGE community of Italian immigrants and their descendants.

Does anyone know if you can bring (with dry ice) on plane? Going to CLT next week from NY and can bring the best if I am allowed.Willing to share-next Tues.

Last time i was in Old Mooresville we had italian ices at a place in town. Idon't remember the name but it was main street in OLD Mooresville south of the track and west side of town WEST OF 3. I think its an icecream soda shop , and the ices were good. He is from NY.

I can't remember the name of this place, but it's located near History's by the old train station. The Mooresville newspaper did a really nice write-up on the business back in the Fall.

Gone....out of business. Their Ice was shipped from NY, old and frozen... Once Rita's came, they go bye-bye

Cardillios on Elm Lane in Charlotte used to carry Italian Ices, like Marios that we used to get in NY. Not sure if they still do or not, but it's worth a phone call.
