What do you think is the best Mexican restaurant in Charlotte and why? I lived in Southern California for 6 years and truly miss the food.
I have tried Moes, Salsarita, Phat burrito, Cantina, and a few others. I do like Cabo Fish Taco, but there must be more?
I am from AZ and it won't ever compare to the Southwest, but I have a few ok places. Moes, QDoba, Baja Fresh are all decent fast food type Burrito places. Cabo is about the best place for Fish Tacos. So far I have enjoyed Las Breezas off 77 and Catawaba. I can't find much downtown. I don't know anything on the south side.
Zapatas & Azteca are big FAVORITES! I don't like the chains and these two places are very authentic. Monterrey off of Park Road South is also very authentic.
Zapata's is pretty good and offers several vegetarian dishes. I prefer the Ballantyne one. Don Pedros and Azteca are the same owners and pretty much the same food, but I think Zapata's is slightly better. Trust me, you don't want to eat at a "really authentic" Mexican taquiero or a Mexican roach coach in Charlotte.

I lived in Southern Ca all my life up to 2 years ago when we moved here, Mexican Food is the one thing my husband and I miss so much. After a long search and some very bad choices we found La Unica in Indian Trail, we now have a place we can go and get Carne Asada Tacos like we had in Mexico!
It's a small place that everyone is now finding out about so on weekends there's a wait..but I can't keep this myself when a fellow S. Ca. is in need

Those places are Tex Mex chains. For real Mexican, try the little taco places on South Blvd (La Unica), Central and S. Tryon in Steele Creek (Allende). Fabulous!

Yeah, we come from Dallas, so we miss the real mexican food too The closest thing I have found around here is QDoba and chipolte.

Really? Qdoba is a chain owned by Jack in the Box. far from authentic. Chipotle is owned by McDonald's.
Try Sole for good Spanis cuisine too.
