The food is good. Don't get my wrong. But bring some Pepto if you plan on going to any of the open air taco stands.

Is that because they were wonderful and you ate too many or otherwise??
We had some of the best carnitas just north of town - big tray of free chichirones (sp?) as you walked in and a big bin of carnitas under a heat lamp - muy bueno!!
And if you know Rosarito, how about La Bufadora and Punta Banda

We go to this little Mexican Restaurant called "Fiesta Maya" on David Cox Rd (at West WT Harris Blvd & W. Sugar Creek Rd).
It is owned by the same people that own the Monterrey Chain in Charlotte!
Quite good!

Rosarito Beach is nice. Went there years back with some friends that live in LA. When we got back to their car it was on blocks and the tires/wheels were missing...kinda funny now but not then! Always drive a rental car there. Not yours!

[quote=Kari Strong;3016038]What do you think is the best Mexican restaurant in Charlotte and why? I lived in Southern California for 6 years and truly miss the food.
I have tried Moes, Salsarita, Phat burrito, Cantina, and a few others. I do like Cabo Fish Taco, but there must be more?[/QUOte
Let me know when you figure it out, the Mexican Restaurants in the CLT area just are not the same as Calif. I think part of the reason too, is the amount of hispanics in Calif. that have really good mom and pop restaurants all over the place

I have heard stories of things that happen down there so I guess I have been very lucky on as many times as I have down there I have never had anything bad happy to me.
