Thanks CLT4! My family is still in southern CA so San Diego was/is on the list too, but I can’t wrap my head around cost of housing. Fingers are crossed for Charlotte!

CLT4 thank you very much for all info. Especially about fishing places. I feel much better knowing that my father has some close places to fish. I will definitely check those places suggested by you.

Jhorbal I believe I have same situation with my wife as you have with your husband. I am all the way for moving NOW and my wife is so worried about people, costs and most importantly her job.

My wife met some women on FB who recently moved to Charlotte from all over US and just love it there.

Yes Kings&Queens, it’s not an easy move. It’s scary to move my kids to a new home and new school, and jobs are tough to get. Selling our house too. And I don’t know how people move to a new city honestly if only one person has a job at first! I’d love not to work, but unfortunately that’s not an option for us. So many pieces have to fit together at the same time!

Last question I think! I want to book an Air B&B home for our stay. I found rentals in the Landsdowne, Sheffield Park/Eastway Park, or Westover Hills areas. Which of these would you suggest?

I'd recommend you go with Landsdowne. Established neighborhood in a good location. Close to Arboretum and South Park.

Also, any suggestions on where to fish?? My father is coming with us and loves to fish. Thanks in advance. King

The lake is home to some of the best largemouth bass fishing in the state as well as bluegill, crappie and catfish.

Me again. Thinking about relocating is starting to sink in. My biggest worries are having my kids transition ok, and hoping we pick the right area so we’ll meet new friends eventually.

Questions: 1) do any of the south Charlotte, Belmont or huntersville areas have a great Newcomer Club you’d recommend? 2) what towns/neighborhoods offer the most kid-focused community events? We are huge fans of going to local events and meeting new people.

Check out Meetup.com. There are a lot of groups on there for diverse sets of interests and hobbies. It is a good way to get plugged in with groups specific to the types of things you enjoy doing, whether it be hiking, art, dancing, cross-fit, etc...
