Just got back from a brief run to the airport, so this is accurate within the last 30 minutes:

The Texaco and Exxon on South Tryon (at 485) both have pumps open with no real lines (maybe 2-deep at each pump). Same for the little no-name place on Wilkerson by the airport.

As of about an hour ago, on my drive up and down the southwest side:

Texaco at Carolina Pavillion on South Blvd had gas, and what looked like a short wait.

One of the stations on South Blvd and Sharon Lakes (the south side corner one), minimal wait

The Marathon at Archdale and South Blvd., also minimal wait

I did pass a lot of places both there and South Park that had no numbers on their signs though.

Another interesting thing I saw was that the light rail station at South and 485 had a giant sign that said the parking lot was full! "Failed project" indeed!

Unfortunately, I listened when I heard, "Don't top off your tank or fill when you're only half full". So, I waited till I was down to about a quarter.

Finally found gas, but could only get $25 worth (regular only) at the BP off of Rt. 77 at Exit 85. It's accross from Baxter Village. The price was the same as last week at $3.85.

Good luck out there!

It was still supplied at 7:55pm, but be warned, there will be a few winners waiting in line with you. This one New Yorker took her kids to the Jack in the Box to use the restroom only to get all bent out of shape when the line was moving around her and just left her car there. I guess it would've been somewhat understandable, had there not been a port-o-john no more than 15 feet away from her car in the first place.

It gets better. The station stops to change a filter and she's screwing around with the pumpkin vendor. But she's yelling at us not to go around her. Of course, she couldn't wait in line with the rest of us, get gas, THEN visit the pumpkin vendor. That would be asking a lot, I know.

The coup de grace is her slalom just past the intersection on the far side of Rite Aid. Two drivers apparently thought the car in front of her was the end of the line, but she decides that endangering her two kids (one appeared to be five or so and the other a little older) is worth the extra couple of car lengths.

I still don't quite know what to make of it. I'm appalled and amused at the same time. It takes all kinds, I guess.

Just got gas for $3.73 at the CircleK on Prosperity and Dearmon near Highland Creek. No lines, just 1 car at every pump.

Default Mooresville

At 8PM tonight, there was gas at the Wilco Hess and Duckworths Marathon at Hwy 150 and Williamson Road. I pulled into the Hess with DW's car and the truck was in the process of delivering the shipment. No waiting at either gas station.
