Spent the day driving around and digging the weather. Went from H-Ville to Denver to Mt Holly to Belmont and to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Stopped into Sonic for lunch. After that, drove back through Cramerton and Gastonia, headed up I-85 North to Spencer, and walked around the NC Transportation Museum (I really need to look into being a volunteer for their restoration projects). Left Spencer and drove through Salisbury and up Rt. 152 to Mooresville. Came down Hwy 115 to Davidson, and stopped at the Soda Shop for a milkshake. Then, came back home. Been housecleaning and doing laundry since.
Do you know there's a street in Gaston County named "Titman Road"? I kid you not.
I'm tired. I've been cutting limbs off my cedars all day.
Me too! Instead of using the compost from one of the two bins along the fence wrapped in chicken wire. DH sent me to the leave pile in the wooded part of the back yard. So I uncovered the top of the leaves and nice mulch underneith, of course since I was digging dear labby decided to help and leaves were flying! So have been planting all day, took an afternoon break when a neighbor stopped by with beer for he and DH and a Smirnoff Ice for me and some kind of orange flavored shot type of liquor, which I only took a sip of since I had a few plants left to do.
From being in the wooded area I felt like I had bugs on me all day, just got out of the shower and feel so much better. Next time I'm sending DH to the woods. Still have 3 hydrangia's to pot tomorrow. I planted 13 lilies, 3 nandina and 6 six packs of impatients, whew!
We also spent a good part of the day driving around, just enjoying the weather and exploring.
I had my first drive through Huntersville.
We also went to the Reed Natural Preserve for the first time. DH and boys enjoyed it. I spent most of the time trying not to suffocate in the car - twisted my ankle badly earlier today and was in no condition to walk around with them! (Ankle swollen and elevated now.)
Ate at a place called Jimmy John's on the way back. Didn't enjoy it. Won't be going back.
Passed by a very festive wedding crowd this evening. Made me smile!

I did the same today minus going to a nature preserve.
