I misunderstood you . Sorry! My bad.

Don't worry about the driving test. You can retake it if you fail. I should know , I failed my first driving test when i was 16

Monroe is convenient to Charlotte, 485 will take you almost anywhere you need. Also there is a hospital, shopping centers, and kennels in town. I recommend moving outside of the city limits of Monroe (taxes). Marshville is in the middle of no where and is approx 30 minute drive to the outer limits of Charlotte. You need to drive on 74 and checking the driving times to your relative's homes in Charlotte before making a decision. Hopefully we will eventually get a bypass. Until then the drive to Charlotte from the east Union will be a pain.

Do your grandchildren live with you or just visit. You can check the crime rates for each town on the City-Date Cities information.

Monroe is very liberal and tolerant. Shelby (Bridges) has the best barbecue unless it is a special event and then Marshville and Unionville have even better barbecue. Sorry, just a little joke.

The weather may help you decide too. Marshville will probably be the milder of the three. I am wondering why you have come to just these three towns. North Carolina has a lot of towns with good medical, good schools, good neighbors and farm land. You might want to google "Farmland and acreage in North Carolina." How often do you go shopping? We have good grocery stores all over the state too.

I am not getting anything from you that would make either of these towns better than the other.
