Where did this happen? In all the years I have lived here, I cannot remember ever met anyone who has been racist, as far as I knew. As a matter of fact, almost everyone I have met has been fiercely proud of their open-mindedness towards other races.

Almost same here. You never know though. There was one time I was walking home from not too far (Gold Coast) and witnessed my first incident of that. This guy was screaming at another guy and saying racial slurs. The other guy was pretty much shocked as in "what the hell is going on?" Seemed like a nice guy. The racist on the other hand was furious and seemed like he'd snap into something violent at any minute. Then another time I was buying some CDs (guy at Berwyn stop had a bunch of soul CDs) and I was looking around and he said "Yo white boy you ain't gonna know who ANY of these people are." I told him I was half middle eastern and he stopped. LOL. Doesn't bother me but I guess it counts and is oddly funny to me anyway. The guy was cool.
