I'm sure they've all retreated back to their scuzzy hotels near O'Hare airport by now.

Suburban idiots ruining the City. Why should they care? They don't live here! This is one reason why I, with a burning passion hate the suburbs.

I'm not all surprised, and to be honest, I don't really care. Reason being -- Montrose Beach is a ***PRIME*** location to have organized summertime beach activities.

Wavefront, which went on last year, for example, had the potential to be a world class event -- they had a great idea. Huge beachfront weekend summer music festival right on the beach. Officially sanctioned, organized, etc.

So what happened--somebody complained that it was too loud!? So, the alderman or whoever it was got it shut down/moved somewhere else. So guess what, there is still a HUGE demand for beachfront summertime activity. So, instead of an officially sanctioned event where the event can be planned for and proper security planned for, unofficial events just pop up, the city is unprepared for the crowds, and a few fill-in-the-blanks all of a sudden have an opportunity to run wild and the beach ends up in significantly worse condition than it would have been had there been organized events utilizing it in the first place!

LOL, 99.9% of the crime in the city is committed by people living in the city.

Today on the news, they reported that Montrose Beach is the dirtiest because of all the dogs in the water, isn't there a dog beach around there?

something else to be concerned about

Surface run off is a major factor in environmental pollution. Why allow dogs on a beach when obviously
the owners don't clean up their crap?

DNA tests may reveal if dogs to blame for fouling Montrose Beach - chicagotribune.com
