since phoenix is the #1 or 2 fastest GROWING metro Area, and Chicago is the fastes LOSER of population, it wont be long till they are the same

and, of course, bigger metro areas than chicago, like LA and New York have many many less murders/gun crimes..

point being, that you are pretending to ignore, is that gun ownership/number of guns has nothing to do with the endless bloodbath that is going on in chicago.

The comments in this thread prove the point that I always bring up. The biggest point of contention and controversy around Chicago is from a national and global perspective, is unequivocally CRIME/VIOLENCE.

It is the one major stain on this city, more so than financial troubles, lack of innovative buildings, weather or even political corruption. If these were the only issues, Chicago would be one of the most popular cities globally.

How this thread has spiraled down an ugly path is all reflective of the national and international negative stigma around CRIME/VIOLENCE.

Getting all the way to the point where a movie was made based on it (CHIRAQ).

Until the city gets this under control, the national reputation will continue to suffer.

the saddest part is that there are so few great cities left in the usa, and frankly, the world, and its painful to watch as one of the few that are left out there, like chicago, are getting washed down the sewer, with the blood of its own residents, with no obvious outrage and concern of the elected officials.

That mayor needs to be removed asap, for there to be any hope of some sort of recovery, or I fear chicago becomes nothing more than a bloody red stain in the heart of its residents, and to the many people who still care about it..

Chicago has no leadership that has a clue or a plan on what to do the stop the innocent slaughter of its residents. Shutting down the flow of guns from Indianna wont stop the slaughter of innocent people like the horror that happened there last night..

well, honestly, who cares if its a dem or a repub, as long as its someone who believes in the rule of law, and shows the world that Chicago is still a great city

there needs to be a public outcry for this to stop, and, in the long term, we all agree more education and resources have to be pumped into communities like Englewood and Austin, so there is some sort of hope and future for young people and they dont have to turn to gangbanging and crime to elevate themselves.

but FIRST, the lawless nightmare has to be addressed
