Hi MysticPhd The Bible is not inerrant, but Scripture is. The Bible is not Scripture, it is a translation of Scripture. When translating from one language to another the person doing the interpretation does not know the infection and other things of the other language. God hides his word from some because as Jesus said when asked why He spoke in parables He said because it is not given for them to understand---at this time. God will reveal his words to who He chooses at the correct time. The smartest man in the world will not understand Scripture unless and until God opens his eyes to it.
So what do you do when Christian X says to Christian Y I have the proper interpretation and Christian Z says to Christian X and Y both of you are wrong. And back to the OP - how do you even know what the 'Scripture' is?
He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord. (Proverbs 17:15)
Disagreeing with the literalist 100% Bible believers has nothing to do with justifying the wicked or condemning the just, Cyber. They are completely unrelated.
This forum should be called the "Attack Christianity" forum. That's all you folks come here for. Did you never consider that puts you in opposition to God. Nobody that KNOWS that the Bible is God's word and is completely reliable cares anything about your screaming and shouting and constant attacks on God and His word. And besides that, anyone who thinks they can fight God and win is only fooling themselves.
Agreed! There are many things in scripture that I do not fully understand or even 'agree' with, but, I readily recognize that the problem is mine ... and not with God or His Word. It seems arrogant and pretentious to glibly declare one's self wiser than God's inspired Word ... which has remained unchanged since it was written (NT - almost two-thousand years ago).
Keep on believing that if you must, in spite of the facts in the case. And keep on believing that attacks on that pernicious doctrine are attacks on Christian faith, they are certainly attacks on the abomination that has become mainstream Christianity.

Do you even read post, Mystic ?
The scripture was given for the purpose of the "redaction criticism"..... that individuals (the unbeliever which God calls the wicked).... always coming here like augiedogie stated... which I am in total agreement with his post, not disagreement.
Anyway, they come here "screaming and shouting and constantly attacking God and His word." is an abomination unto the Lord for those who justify the action of the wicked and condemn the just (100% literalist), amen !!

Says the guy that likely would have been called a heretic 1800 years ago.
Maybe God inspired those problems in the OT just so people like you would find them and be stumbled.
The overall truth of the Scriptures is that man needs a Saviour. The Saviour came, died for our sins, was entombed and God raised Him from the dead. He is seated at the right hand of the Father and will come again.
