It doesn't surprise me that you deny that there's a hell.
Jesus denied it as well..
I do work in the mental health field, feel free to ask for referrals..
Gehenna is different than the other New Testament words for hell as it was an actual geographic place during the life of Jesus (the word actually means the Valley of the Son of Hinnom). Described by some as a garbage dump outside of Jerusalem, it was a place of historic weeping and gnashing of teeth because it is where children were previously sacrificed to Pagan gods. This was also a place where bodies were cremated, and where there was likely a fire continually burning. In many cases where Jesus uses this term, he is often referencing the coming destruction of Jerusalem (AD 70) and warning his generation as to how they could avoid having their bodies thrown into Gahenna.
The framers of the constitution were men of character who could not fathom the perversion of homosexuality being treated acceptable. It was simply a nonissue.
That may be. But the fact remains that they did not include the regulation of marriage in the constitution, thereby leaving it up to the states. The question of whether mixed-race marriages could/should be legal, let alone whether it was a perversion as many believed it to be, was very much an issue in their time, and if they had believed that the federal government should have an opinion about regulating marriage, they would have said so.
The framers of the constitution were normal men, so perversion was not addressed.
Again, if they had thought that the federal government should regulate sexual behavior, they would have said so. It's not as if regulating sexual behavior was a non-issue at the time.
It's widely believed that God sent AIDS to judge the modern day sodomites; heterosexuals were affected too. But, the sodomite community experienced alot of death in the 1980's.
You may believe this.
That doesn't equate to it being widely believed.
Worldwide, far more straight people have AIDs than gay people. I've always been curious, maybe you can explain - why did god choose to use AIDs to punish gay american males and straight female africans?
