Yes, soap was what the NICE kids used. The rest of us used wax or parafin.

Guess I was one of the nice kids. Moving outhouses was still a thing as we're driving around in pick ups lined with protective bales throwing eggs at other kids in pick ups lined in bales.

Halloween is good clean scary fun. Complete with tummy aches from too much candy, and hot mommies in costumes, and darling children dressing up and pretending. Wholesome, good fun.

Those who want to place some sinister motives to it, knock yourselves out. The rest of us will just have fun.

Default There is no sin but ignorance.

Yeah, it seems that the evolution of the "Thou shalt not allow a witch to live" mind, is a very slow process. It seems that 200,000+ dead, innocent, burned at the stake Europeans, is just not enough to convince them that there are NO such things as witches.

it's ok for those who does not want to follow Jesus or worship Jehovah God. but as a "Christian" we should know if what we allow ourselves to get involved with from this world, is of satan or God ,(2Cor. 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices). and (Ephe. 6:11 Put on the whole Armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil). it's NOT true Christians who's placing "some sinister motives to it", it's the word of God. Jehovah God and Jesus, shows light, satan shows darkness. and even if those "darling children", (some), are dressed up as Angels, princesses, or football players. satan makes sure others are as devils, a ghost, or wears a Chucky costume. it's still represent evil, no matter how some try to pretty it up. a true Christian must stay away from things such as that ,(Pro. 3:7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil). also what might seem alright to man, can lead to ones life ,(Pro. 16:25 There is a way that seem right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death). peace

A simple worldview designed for simple people. Which is why JWs will never form more than 1% of the population. 99% of the world isn't that simple.

My mother explained to her that the streaks, we called them falling stars, are actually bits of space rubble burning up in the Earth's atmosphere. But my grandmother wasn't buying THAT! Why would God put rubble in in the sky? My grandmother would refuse to sit outside with us on warm summer nights because the sight of the fiery streaks of the burning souls falling from heaven upset her.

My grandmother also use to get upset if someone left a lightbulb out of the socket, because she was certain that the room would fill with electricity and kill us all, and no one could talk her out of it. Sometimes there is no solution to well entrenched ignorance.

My grandmother passed away more than fifty years ago now. Which seems to be the only way such well entrenched beliefs disappear.

Well, that we are not all astrophysicists, explains why we do not know how they know the age of the universe. The fact is, they do. Because they are astrophysicists, and that's what they do. If you desire to understand how, I refer you to a beautiful little book by Neil de Grasse Tyson,..."Astrophysics for people in a hurry." After reading the first two chapters, you too will understand how they know the age of the universe.

You are correct. The JW,s don't support satans side to the best of their abilities. They listened to Jesus and are no part of this world.
