Well snj90, I'm sorry you have bought into the prejudice about your nature and have clearly conflated that nature with profligacy, which it is NOT, but you seem to be on the right track otherwise and I'm sure the Spirit will eventually set you free from that prejudice.
Homosexuality is my temptation. It's not my nature.
It is a very fair question to ask why God saddles us with temptation. The temptation itself comes from Satan. God's purpose in permitting Satan to attack us is specifically to grow our faith. And let me tell you what - it DOES grow your faith!
God will not permit us to be tested in ways He knows we fail. The purpose of the tests is so that we can demonstrate to ourselves (as God already knows our hearts) the strength of our faith!
This is exactly what we see with Job, for instance.
OP, you're right but the Bible also says not to judge others. So be careful how you phrase your position. Don't condemn, since I assume you don't want to be condemned. We're all sinners. I sure am.
I know that, and I'm sorry to hear it. I don't think there's anything I can say that could open your eyes, but I still post because I think others may be reading and realize that you can still follow the Christian path without believing the Bible is something more than it is, and in fact see how damaging that sort of belief can be.
You're serving that way without even trying.
And I truly hope BF, jeff, Finn, and little jimmiej keep posting. The world needs to see the rot of divisiveness and bigotry that lies at the heart of Christian fundamentalism.
And they demonstrate it very well.
Good post, as always. Can't rep, as nearly always.
Fundamentalist equates to intolerance.
Atheist's are more accepting of love.
I believe in allowing people to live freely however they want even if it is the path of sin. The only thing I won't tolerant is taking away people's freedom of religion which is what happened with Christian business owners. The intolerance is on the other side of the fence.

Good point...don't judge...glass houses, basically.
And the burden of judging has been clearly lifted from us...not our job...we have only 2 that were given.
Of course it's your nature.
A heterosexual person would not be tempted.
Now, that was a good one....just as a gay person would never be tempted by the opposite sex...just doesn't happen...no chemistry, no spark...just nothin'.

So you WILL keep on SAYING in spite of demonstrations to the contrary....as expected from your kind of fundamentalist.
