This is posted in the Christianity sub-forum for a reason, Tricky.

You're opinion is noted.

Thank you.

Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me."

Do you believe that? Most definitely I do!

Explain why or why not.

Why? Well, Alpha,
Let me explain a little.... I always knew there was a God... and that something was very sacred about the Bible and that it was God's word!
I even would pray to God since a little girl and on occasion go to church. But it wasn't till way later in my life when He started drawing me to Himself, which I didn't understand that at the time.

I had never heard of Jesus, but I knew there was a God.
Till that one day when I picked up the Bible and began to read it and that very verse, God showed me I needed Jesus to come to Him.

That is when life began....
Our Lord Jesus, brought salvation to the world, so that we could repent. And the grace of God and His mercy, Whom opens the eyes of the heart with faith, so that we can believe in Him, our Blessed heavenly Father.
There is no other way, to come to God.....But through Christ Jesus!!!

Yes, but not only Salvation, but Oneness, even a fulness of Christ.

Define His name, and the answer is clear.

godspeed,

freedom

Yes I do.

Because I searched, and could not find another way.

But guess what!!! It still won't shut me up!!!

I LOVE JESUS!!! I LOVE JESUS!!! HE'S THE ONLY WAY!!!!!

CAUSE HE SAID SO.

Yes, but I believe that Jesus was speaking of the Christ and not himself, other Christ awakened masters said the same thing in different ages.

Quote:
Explain why or why not.
The I AM is bigger than Jesus in the same way that all the water on this earth is more than any individual lake. By analogy, Jesus, Buddha and Krishna are lakes filled with the one living I AM.

In another scripture, Jesus clearly says the only requirement for attaining eternal life is loving God and loving our neighbor: “On one occasion an expert in the law stood up to test Jesus. ‘Teacher,’ he asked, ‘what must I do to inherit eternal life?’ ‘What is written in the Law?’ he replied. ‘How do you read it?’ He answered: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’; and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ‘You have answered correctly,’ Jesus replied. ‘Do this and you will live.’” (Luke 10:25-28).

If believing in Jesus were necessary to attain eternal life, Jesus would have been guilty of lying to the temple official in this scripture. Not a single time did Jesus ever warn us about other religions. Rather, he said, “And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.” (Luke 9:49-50). Any sincere believer that is not against Jesus is for Jesus.

Krishna comments on his own incarnation:

When goodness grows weak, when evil increases, I make myself a body. In every age I come back to deliver the holy, to destroy the sin of the sinner; to establish righteousness. Bhagavad Gita

And Buddha said:

You are my children, I am your father; through me you have been released from your sufferings. I myself having reached the other shore, help others to cross the stream; I myself having attained salvation, am a savior of others; being comforted, I comfort others and lead them to the place of refuge. My thoughts are always in the truth. For lo! my self has become the truth. Whosoever comprehends the truth will see the Blessed One.

No doubt for me, I believe Jesus is the ONLY way to the Father just like He said. Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in no one else. There is no other name in all of heaven for people to call on to save them".
This one issue that Christians cannot be opened minded about. I think it's very clear what the Bible, God's Word say about this.

Absolutly yes.
Look who calls himself the only way, calls himself the shepherd and and will hold anyone else as a false shepherd:

9 therefore, O shepherds, hear the word of the LORD :

10 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

11 " 'For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them.

12 As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.

13 I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land.

15 I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign LORD.

16 I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

The new testament

Matthew 2:6
" 'But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of my people Israel.' "

Matthew 25:33
He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

Jesus calls himself "the shepherd".
LORD Jehovah calls himself "the shepherd"

Along the lines of what freedom stated, I vote yes - IF His name and person are defined accurately.

A counter question I would ask is: "Do you think believing the right thing saves you"?

To that I would vote a definite no.

And before anyone starts quoting verses - here's the English definition of "believe" from merriam-webster online:

intransitive verb
1 a: to have a firm religious faith b: to accept as true, genuine, or real <ideals we believe in> <believes in ghosts>2: to have a firm conviction as to the goodness, efficacy, or ability of something <believe in exercise>3: to hold an opinion : think <I believe so>transitive verb1 a: to consider to be true or honest <believe the reports> <you wouldn't believe how long it took> b: to accept the word or evidence of <I believe you> <couldn't believe my ears>2: to hold as an opinion : suppose <I believe it will rain soon>

The idea that if you hold a belief or opinion or are simply convinced that Jesus is the only way then you are 'saved' could not be further from the truth.

The Greek actually carries the idea of coming into agreement through relationship.

Frankly, this thread reeks of evangelical exclusivity.

Zoe Aionion (life eonian) is something which those who know the Father possess. Those who possess that life are in possession of it through the person of Jesus Christ, not through the pronunciation of a name in the technical sense.

Here's another question: Can those outside the religion of Christianity know the person and nature of Christ?

I vote absolutely yes. Many outside know Him as well or better.

blessings,
- Byron
