Matthew 11
28Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

What is the yoke of Jesus?

A yoke is a harness, used to guide and restrain beasts of burden.

To follow Him with the intent of listening only to His voice - His sheep know His voice.

(You'll be told to abandon your carnal thoughts, and carry what may be a heavy "cross" at times, but He'll tell you His grace is sufficient for you.)

I think we are hooking together with the spirit of God when we accept Christ. There is work to do but he really does the work for and through us. He is our partner...but he pulls the weight. He takes us on as part of the team being yoked together.
Just like it says not to be yoked together with unbelievers. We don't want an unbeliever to be our team.

the greek translation of the verse is saying that it means burden.

That Jesus is saying take His burden ...and He'll take yours

Take up your cross and follow Jesus
Take up your cross everyday
Don't be ashamed to say
that you know Him,
Count the cost,
then take up your cross
and follow Him.........................
