June understands what you are saying, but the reality is that there are those who would state, with their own sense of 'certainty' that God doesn't exist.

For them, that is their reality.

(Which, by the way, one could argue is separate and independent from any ontologically based argument regarding the existence/non-existence of a God.)

Well up until my mid 20's i had never really thought about God in any serious way . Yet all that time funnily enough God was thinking about me and i discovered after He made himself known to me , that not only was He thinking about me but He had a plan for my life, and that day He made Himself known to me was my day of salvation.2 Cor 6 : 2
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

My whole road(life) had been prepared by God Genesis 50 : 20.

Yes i am mad

So i would say i was deceived until He made Himself known to me.

What a wonderful testimony. One that is shared by many millions including myself. Until I was willing to seriously consider The Creator and ask for him to reveal himself to me in a greater way other than thru the remarkable Creation all about us...I followed my own instincts based on feelings , relative moralism , and doing whatever made ME happy regardless of whether it was right or wrong because afterall, there was no one more important than myself and I had no intention of being owned --- not even by the Creator of the Universe . Now im pleased to say I am a child of the most high God based on what Christ has done for me thru his finished atonement . There is nothing greater than knowing One is truly reconciled to God and knowing where youre going after this brief interlude of life.

I guess I don't believe because there is no compelling reason to.

Zeus never did anything for me....

Actually there is a very rational & logical reason. Rationally & logically I believe there must be a creator of the universe. And I believe the bible to be a description of that creator.

You don't see any compelling reason because you don't see why there must be a creator of the universe. We each see differently because we don't see the same evidence, and quite possibly we are not even wired the same way to understand in the same way.

Ummmm...Richard Dawkins is the one that is a bit disingenuous for e.g. In his book the "Dawkins delusion" He slams Christianity with all the religious wars it has started, pretty much blaming war on Christianity and yet when he gets into a debate with someone who confronts him with the wars started by secularists, atheists, communists, socialist, marxism, nazism-that in the 20th century alone over 100,000,000 people have been killed by their own governments Dawkins pulls back and says, the issue of war is not a good debate, that both sides have blood on their hands. AND YET HE PLASTERS IT IN HIS BOOK-BEING TOTALLY BIAS yet to recant and still uses it as an argument in his seminars. Someone sounds a little disingenuous.

I don't believe in an all powering "god" either.

I believe "god" (your god or whoever you worship) was made up by man. he was made up to keep people behaving civil to each other, to make us better people. I relate this to Santa Claus.

When we want kids to behave, we tell them to be good because santa is coming. "he's checking his list, the whole naughty and nice" thing. We tell them that so they behave. As we get older, Santa doesnt work anymore, so there is be good because god is watching. Maybe the god belief came before Santa, and thats why they started the santa myth because telling the kids about god wasn't working, either way its the same thing.

What will all you believers say when they find life on other planets? Especially when they dont look like us at all?

Well first off I believe there could be life...but there are so many what if's

I have a question for you. Doesn't the concept of God create good and evil? if no God then how do we assess what is evil? If no God of the bible then someone must play the role of "God"? who? and what gives them the authority to play that role? and if that authority is wrong by your standards of good and evil. Are you now "God"?

So in a nutshell without God how can morality be absolute?

I do not know about any other believer, but I think finding life on other planets will be cool.

So what does that have to do with God not existing?
