I do believe in the tribulation (as you know) - but I don't think God is going to scoop all the hypocrites out of here before hell breaks loose. We're all going through hell together - period. The pharisees only make it more unpleasant because they are terrified of suffering for Christ. Sigh.....

It's from 1985. If you can watch this and honestly say that Jack Van Impe is to be listened to or trusted in any way, shape or form then I am at a loss to understand why. He is very obviously playing on the fears and headlines of 1985 while looking ahead to the "end" in 2000.
Now he's doing the EXACT same thing but is instead substituting people's fears and beliefs about 2012 and the NWO.
Whether you think he's onto something or not - does the phrase "cry wolf" ring a bell? He is disqualified AND end-timers should hold him responsible for turning multitudes off to the end time message by his blatant opportunistic/sensationalist methods and hundreds of failed predictions/speculations.

Verna, thanks for all the links on this. It is quite worrisome to say the least. We must trust God will work it all out, but for now, things could get pretty scary. And the fact they are trying to keep it underwraps is not helping. But eventually when this gets so big, the news will be forced to cover it. Up here in Canada we got a few more reports that the "leak" is still occuring after 11 weeks...! I love how they refer to it as a "leak", gives the idea of a pipe dripping. But this is no leak. It is a gusher, in multiple places. 10000s of PSI or more.
Whether this is the worst environmental disaster or not is debatable... it certainly may turn into that. But at this point it is definitely the worst oil "spill" disaster in history.
For reference:
1989 Exxon Valdez spilled approx 250000-750000 barrels of oil.
1979 Ixtoc disaster spilled approx 3000000 barrels of oil in 9 months.
2010 BP disaster has already spilled approx 3000000+ barrels in 11 weeks.
If the spill could be stopped TODAY, it would still be worse than the 9 month disaster in 1979.
To put it in perspective, effectively it is an Exxon Valdez spill happening once or twice a week. And its not stopping!!!
Its interesting to read about the aftermath of the Ixtoc spill - the BP spill will be similar (if they can stop it). According to wikipedia, after 6 years it was difficult to find any evidence of the 1979 Ixtoc spill.
Actually I see that it may not be the biggest oil spill in history (yet). I forgot about the 1991 oil spill in Iraq/Kuwait. But to be sure, I don't think they have a good estimate of the BP spill.
