Okay, back to light rail.
And Eastern Hamilton County is the cash cow for Hamilton County. Does that mean you suggest just cutting off the West Side and letting it drift on its own? In the history of Cincinnati, the West Side performed a very notable role in the cultural development of the City and the county. It deserves better than it has been getting.

In your dreams. First of all the earnings tax for people who work downtown is paid to the City of Cincinnati, not Hamilton County. Without the earnings tax the City would be in deep doo-doo. Yes there is a good amount of property tax on the commercial buildings downtown, but what is the split between the City and the County? We all know the schools get a huge percentage of property tax right off the top. And I believe it is called the Cincinnati Public School District, not the Hamilton County School District.

Downtown funds the City not the County.

I never heard of a Hamilton county school district. I think you are making things up. Hamilton county is funded by sales tax and property tax.

I think he is just making a point that there is no Hamilton County District.

Please reread what I said. I said it is the Cincinnati Public School District not the Hamilton County School District.

You are right, Hamilton County is funded by sales tax and property tax. And since most of the wealthier citizens are in the Eastern Portion of the County, they pay the highest property taxes and very likely spend the most sales taxes.

The downtown funds the City, not the county. So those who live outside of the City but work in the City are the the ones keeping the City afloat via their earnings tax. And other than the privilege of being employed there they are receiving dip-sh*t for their money.

Hey, at least someone actually reads what is written before firing back a response. Maybe my responses are too complex to understand?

Please, I have plenty of time. So what is your miracle solution for getting rail transit built in Cincinnati?

Oh, let me guess, it starts with taxes, the first bastion of the liberal left. Let the other guy pay for it.

If rail is going to work, it has to be a transition. To me that means a reduction in auto traffic with an increase in rail traffic. But apparently noone has the intelligence or the fortitude to attack this problem head on. Particularly the simultaneous reduction of auto traffic with the increase in rail traffic. I guess we just do not have enough bright people who can tackle this. I keep hearing about logistics and other fancy names. I view this as a logistics problem of large proportions.

Why is it not being solved? Very simply, there is no national focus on it. Until it has a national focus like the Interstate HIghway System did. it will flounder around and beat itself to death.
