"YOU see!" subjective ... but in numerous studies no, fact sorry.
In most studies Atlanta is the most important in the south, but I'm to going say this
Culturally Miami, Miami is the most well know city in the south for cultural experience and It's a getaway to Latin America/Caribbean
Economically Houston, Obviously no matter how Houston economy is, Houston profit the most.
Socially Atlanta, logistics, mass media, and education. Things that are more important socially than profit.
Population Dallas, DFW self explanatory
I said that on the first page; if you would've just agreed than; all this back and forth wouldn't of started up. Culturally, it goes to Atlanta. Miami has little to no influence in the south.
I have to say that I've noticed that any thread involving disucssion of a southern city vs. any other city usually goes downhill very quickly. Not many people on this site give any credibility to southern cities...there is so much unwarranted criticism toward them, and I have a feeling that it's mostly from people with no real knowledge of them.
I've noticed the same key posters are always involved when the thread goes down hill. At first I believe it was from defensiveness on all sides. Now it's just out of spite IMO. It's like a bait trap, everyone knows what sets everyone off and it's starting to get personal. Also notice, that there's always that 1 or 2 posters that sink the bait, then sit back and watch in every post.
We should all be experts on Atlanta, Dallas, and Houston by now.
Latino's don't live in Dallas? Are you kidding? Middle Easterners don't live in DFW? There aren't as many as Houston, but they are definitely here.
You had it backward from the start. Metro Houston has a higher percentage of Latino's and African-Americans. That is the difference. However, those communities are repersented here in very large numbers. The "others" including Asians and people from other parts of the world are insignificant on the whole. There are almost as many here and they are just as integrated.

Bear in mind the total above are foreign born only, not total number. Ill post those later.
good one there, you got me....although i still do think houston has a more diverse feel to it, those are good points and i could argue this even more....but this would go on forever, i appreciate that you brung up facts and not just emotional rants...so i can respect that and you won the arguement....so nice DEBATE!! LOL, not "too good," more like, "too tired of this same damn type of thread popping up every few weeks". I feel like my perspective would've been useless, since most people seem to have their mind made up the minute they come in here. I knew as soon as this thread popped up, it was going to be a bloodbath, so I figured why bother?
*walks out while y'all fight amongst yourselves and goes to the elliptical*

Its been fun.
Houston is more diverse. Im not arguing that. But the difference is not drastic outside:
1) The integration of African-Americans into traditionally white/hispanic neighbohoods
2) Houston has a wider variety of Hispanic residents. Dallas' hispanic community is more like Chicago's. Mostly two nationalities (Mexican and Salvadoran in DFW and Mexican/Puerto Rican in Chicago).
DFW and Houston's Asian communities are very comparable in integration and size.

I think he meant Latin American culture. Lol, people always mention the Latin American culture in Miami even though there are plenty of other people in Miami besides hispanics, and they don't eat empanadas all day -_-.
Actually; the gulf coast region supplies resources to the VA area; however, VA has an advantage over the other southern states due to it's location near the NE which supplies them as well. The Colonial pipeline (which starts in Houston) services the majority of the East Coast.
Ok that's great and all but the impact is minimal at best. Houston has little, if any and I tend to lend to the if any part, of presence in Virginia. That's DC's territory.
TMC is much more than hospitals; it's also research facilities and medical schools. Some of the most important medical inventions were started in Houston at TMC. Lots of celebrities/athletes as far as medical procedures are linked back to here as well. With over 5 million visitors each year, and over 10,000 international visitors. It's much more than regional.
And that's my point: TMC isn't really that important to the South regionally. It's more of a national/international thing. Like I said, medical centers tend to pull from a smaller, more concentrated area unless they specialize in one thing, and in that instance, they tend to be more important nationally than regionally.

I know I've learned more about them than I ever wanted to.
I'm surprised that the ATL and H-Town crews haven't started talking about music yet. ATL ringtone rappers vs. chopped & screwed rappers or Keri Hilson vs. that illuminati puppet, I mean, Beyonce.
