I like it Large although I would get rid of the east and annex katy
Yeah; the bad thing about having such a large city is Houston annexed highly conservative/less progressive areas and there beliefs and mindset isn't [usually always] inline with those closer into the core. I'd agree though; annexing Katy and getting rid of the east would be awesome.
Would someone post pictures of homes in these areas for comparison?
Theirs a reputation with your name on it.
wot areas? inner loop has been over done. I doubt anyone has oics of the east side. It is rarely talked about and not many attractions are there.
in fact even the east side of the inner loop is rather empty. most of the population is on the west side so the density is higher than suggested. Probably closer to 8500 ppsm in the western half of inner loop
well sorry to jump on your case, it just seem odd because it seemed you were disagreeing but only with the same argument.
There are about 3 or zip codes in the south west part of Houston that are at least 3 times as dense as the inner loop. I would de annex parts of the SE and NE. That would Leave Houston with about 1,900,000 people in half the current city limits.
Houston would still be the 4th largest city and the density would increase to about 6200 ppsm.
Houston should really consider doing this. It's not gonna reach 3million any time soon, so why not just "de annex" some places and still be the 4th largest city in the US, and let it's growing population in the Loop bring it back to 2million.

There are about 600K in the inner loop. There are another 1M between Katy and the inner loop in the SW. There are another 300K in the unincorporated Katy area and about 300K in the NW.
If They took off the east side and added katy they would be left with the exact same number they do now, but with a density of 6200 ppsm instead of 4000 ppsm.
Then again some of the most important tax bases are on the east. There is the ship channel, Hobby and IAH airports, lots of factories and storage areas associated with shipping.
The east side is also home to many wetland areas and conservatories that growth cannot take place on.
anyway, you are always complaining about size, we are just pleasing you.
