Bitterness? I am not bitter about anything, I just think it's funny how Californians get their panties in a bunch because everyone doesn't praise their state. Yeah, I know it was an attack on my posts, didnt claim otherwise.
Why do you think Scandinavian countries are constantly rated as having a high quality of life and NYC is never on the list? Having a high quality of lie doesn't just mean jobs, salaries, and cost of living. It means much more. Having clean air to breathe, having nature close by to see and be in touch with, and etc.
First of all Scandinavia is an entire region of Europe comprised of several countries and NYC is just a single city in New York State US of A. Kind of hard to compare., you know?
Second of all if you think that having clear air to breathe and closeness to nature is more important than access to high paying jobs then I am surprised most of African countries dont make the list since closeness to nature and clean air is so abundant there
Finally if you think Scandinavia is all about closeness to nature and clean air then you really have to visit this countries.
PS. Describing Buffalo as very nice? That's funny.
It isn't as bad as people may think it is. Also, 5 Upstate metros and 2 Upstate micro areas gained people this past decade. Even in some areas that lost some people, some center cities like Utica and Binghamton gained or stabilized in terms of population for the same period.

Billionaires:
NY - 65
California - 89
Multi-Billionaires (over 10 billion):
NY - 7
California - 4
NY has more billionaires per-capita, California more total billionaires -
Sadly for California, they lost Steve Jobs otherwise they would have had 5 multi-billionaires.
I'm not sure what your point is? By your own stats, California has both more total billionaires and billionaires per capita. I didn't say anything about "multibillionaires".

Second, this has nothing to do wit QOL for the average American. There are not too many billionaires.
The reason I pointed it out is because a billionaire can live wherever they choose, without the slightest concern about work, cost of living, or other factors beside QOL. Since most of them choose to live in California (few in Florida) that says something for the greater quality of life there).

Well, one of those billionaires, I think number 6 or seven 7 in the wealth ranking actually runs one of the cities in New York state. Billionaire mayor... Any kind of similar involvement in California or the billionaires there simply treat their California estates as just another vacation property they own or simply designate it as an official state of residence for tax purposes?

I'm pretty sure primary residence is what's listed, nobettername. And it kind of makes sense ..... if quality of life is the only issue, people would choose California, right? Same amenities, but vastly better climate and more relaxed lifestyle. I can't think of anything New York is better at .... maybe Broadway musicals? I guess that would work for gay billionaires ..... then there are some really good hot dog stands and pizza. But that wouldn't be enough to offset the climate and greater recreational opportunities. From just about any place in California, LA especially, you can quickly get to the mountains for some skiiing, the desert to warm up, and then the beaches to cool down again and watch the sunset.

First off, I totally agree with you. I don't have a problem with people not liking CA, there's plenty to not like. But a lot of the East Coasters just yammer and rail on against the west coast like it is a plagued arm that needs to be cut off immediately. The 9/11 thread is perfect proof that some EC (on this board) really, really hate California.
Second, to be fair, I would wager that half of those threads were started by the same idiot. I think he started that 9/11 thread too.

I agree, I don't care if people hate CA, God put me here, and I love it till death here! Any comments on CD is non existent in the real world!
