I think you guys need to really put your ears to the streets, if you think Miami doesn't have it's own local Indie Hip-Hop scene. Miami is way more than just Pitbull and Flo Rida....

Maybe you only pay attention to mainstream hip-hop...

Hell, even Plies has had a resurgence...
True.... Good points. Thank you for actually listing rappers. CURRENT rappers. I will say that from the names you listed I have only heard the music of Denzel Curry & Kodak Black. I will check out the others. I will still state that those dudes are not very popular outside the south except maybe plies.

I don't only listen to mainstream hiphop at all. But I notice more buzz from places like Chicago, Dallas, Philly even DC. and of course the main places like NYC, ATL, LA. There is just so much to listen too man lol. I do like that new Ritz Carlton song too lol.

Been to both places many times -lived a short time in each.

Miami Beach especially South Beach is walkable -think it gets 94 or 97 on those scales. That to me is a huge advantage; LA has the worst traffic in the nation. I hate that. Of course having a car in parts of Miami Beach would be difficult.

LA has better weather but definitely worse air quality. Traffic jams are not healthy either. Still months of hot and humid is not fun.

Florida has no state income tax, but which place is more expensive? Depends what part.I suppose.

I don't care about the ethnic stuff - people are people.

Conclusion-- I'm happy in my dual residences 90 min apart Bent NM and El Paso TX. At any given time they are 17 degrees different. Summers in Bent go to about 79 highs but winters are warmer in El Paso.

Exclamation Santa Monica VS Miami Beach

Two great beach towns. Which one would you choose based on:
Amenities
Economy/Jobs
Friendliness
Safety
Housing

This list of criteria doesn't read like a list based on reasons people would be interested in these two places to begin with. For me, it reads like a list to compare single family home suburbs for people to raise kids.

Why not? Miami beach is not strictly a vacation spot.

Probably because at least for me.

Santa Monica caters towards rich families and tech geeks as opposed to Miami that appeals towards actual vacationing and beaching.

Santa Monica is pretty much a family fun version of Miami Beach.

Both have nightlife with obvious edge towards Miami.
