Currently being stuck in OKC, I really like Dallas and go there quite often. Of course, I can see why somebody from the east or west coast may think it is boring. It is far from the worst place to live though and I would actually move there if I could.
It's interesting that almost everyone is naming Chicago as most fun, because let the media and certain people tell it, the entire city of "Chi-raq" is a dangerous, un-tourist friendly war zone that should be avoided at all costs.
Second time you've said that but I don't see it coming up any more than a number of other cities. And Chicago being mentioned shouldn't really come as a surprise, despite what "the media and certain people" say. Clearly not enough people are drinking the "Chi-raq is a dangerous, un-tourist friendly war zone that should be avoided at all costs" Kool-Aid as it remains in the top 10 in international tourism (I do find its rank & #s a bit underwhelming, but that is mainly caused by other factors).

Seems like it. Maybe because several people have posted Chicago but itself as the most fun city, even since I mentioned it the first time.

...and that's exactly my point. Anytime I'm in Chicago, I always see and meet tons of international tourists who are perfectly safe and absolutely excited to be there. So I personally think the whole "Chi-raq" stereotype is funny. Stay away from most areas of the South and West sides and you'll be fine; what city DOESN'T have its good and bad areas?

I've definitely noticed Chicago coming up a lot, maybe the most. At least top 3 right? The media does always show Chicago as a warzone, and when I tell people in LA I want to live there, immediately after they gripe about the weather, the warzone comments start. Every city/metro has good and bad area. In Chicago, it just happens to be the best and worst parts are in the city. In NYC, The Bronx has its own name. If it didn't, and was just called NYC, NYC would be considered dangerous. Same with Oakland/SF.
