...that you bought and learned how to prepare from your neighbor, Wisconsin!
But agreed.
Nah, we've got more Germans in Minnesota than we do Scandinavians, despite popular perception. Wisconsin does do the brats-and-beer culture better, though. That's for sure.
In any case, ask a Minnesotan to put hot dogs on the grill and they'll either scoff or laugh at you. Hot dogs are food for children with unrefined palates.

When it comes to grilled meats, oh ja. Taste a grass-fed bison basil bratwurst, and then have a bite from a typical street vendor hot dog. You'll see what I mean.

That's the influence of German culture right there. Texans aren't hot dog people either. We do sausages.
So are the Vienna Beef hot dogs sold in Chicago different than the Vienna Beef hot dogs I can buy anywhere else in the grocery store?
And I love Chicago-style dogs, they might be my favorite hot dog style, though I'm just curious if people really believe they can't be duplicated outside Chicago.
It's basically my favorite thing in the world when people think something stupid simple can't possibly be recreated outside they're town.
Whether it be a a 3 ingredient Poutine or Cheesesteak, or a bagel or a Lobster dinner which you need 1) a Lobster 2) Boiling water 3)butter. It's pretty funny.
Things with tons of ingredients, and some local like Clam Chowder, Certain BBQ rubs, gumbo etc. and even then someone can do it somewhere.
But you really think that no one else can make a chicken wing Buffalo?
