But I chose Corpus Christi. Because I love beaches and it is more tropical then the rest of Texas.

Harrisburg, PA or Springfield ,IL

Both State Capitols
Yes, yes, and I was thinking of posting this pair myself.

Both are smallish cities (Springfield may now have more than 100k residents, Harrisburg doesn't) that have some attractive qualities, but both seem to punch below their weight. Neither has much in the way of nightlife that I know of. Springfield has the association with Lincoln, but Harrisburg has a much nicer riverfront. Ergo, Harrisburg.

I'd simply like to add my $.02 to projectmaximus noting that someone kept putting up the same two cities for comparison: Maybe it's unconscious, but I do try to vary things by contrast. There's usually a city in Pennsylvania, the greater Philadelphia region, or the Missouri-Kansas area in my pairings, because I know those best, but I try to change them up.

So here's my latest:

Dodge City, Kan., or Bristol, Va.-Tenn.?

Bristol, more scenic and less isolated place.

Berlin, OH. I'd rather be in OH than VT.

Cincinnati. I like both cities a lot, but Cincy has a better cost of living and not quite so cold. Love its access to other larger metros too.

Wilmington, NC or Wilmington, DE?

Little Rock because it is a nicer looking city. I like that it is also inexpensive. It is a city I need to explore a bit more.

Washington, DC or San Francisco, CA?

San Antonio. I really love that city. One of the most underrated, IMO.

Detroit, MI or Milwaukee, WI?

This is very tough. I really like Milwaukee for its location and easy city layout. Detroit is getting better, but I would choose Milwaukee.

Spokane, WA or Lexington, KY?
