Two similarly sized midwestern state capitals. Springfield, IL or Topeka, KS?
I grew up 50 miles east of Topeka. Springfield. A little more history in the general area, thanks to Abe Lincoln.

Now that we're on the subject of what may be the most ubiquitous place name in the country:

Springfield, Mo., or Springfield, Mass.?

Bangor. I know SD's bigger and has more to do, but it's just too expensive. I'd rather be on the east coast as well. My wife has a childhood friend in Bangor.

Orlando, FL or Las Vegas, NV?

I think I’d go with Orlando. I’d take the influence of the Mouse over casino culture for living any day.

McKinney TX or San Marcos TX?

McKinney. I really like the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Providence, RI or Albany, NY?

Albany/Troy has good bones and made some great strides in the past 10 years and has great access to NY mountains. But I’d go with Providence for the food and access to Boston as well as easy access to some real nice coastal options.

Brunswick ME or Brunswick GA

Brunswick GA, for sure. I love that area of coastal GA. GREAT beaches, warm ocean waters, longer warm seasons, easily accessible, and enjoy the nice tropical feel. I lived in New England for a year and a half a couple of years ago (Cape Cod). The coastal areas there have their merits, but I prefer the southeastern coast from the Carolinas to Florida much better on many levels.

Albuquerque, NM or Louisville, KY?

Albuquerque... I think Louisville is the better overall city/metro but it's a little too close to where I grew up, so I think I'd prefer the change in culture/scenery/climate in the southwest, plus ABQ by itself isn't a horrible city by any means.

Rock Hill... Cary seems like the nicer city but I'd prefer to live closer to Charlotte than close to Raleigh.

Colorado Springs, CO or Greensboro, NC?

Greensboro. I really like both cities/metros. But Greensboro is pretty underrated, IMO. You get a lot of bang for your buck there. If they can somehow get their economy cranking like Charlotte and Raleigh/Durham has, they could really take off. I also like their location near Charlotte, the mountains, and not too far from the beaches. I've really enjoyed my visits to Co. Sprs. Great people and scenery. I just prefer Greensboro. Good comparison.

Hickory, NC or Yakima, WA?
