I dont know if folks are talking about the grimiest looking places but I do know for sure one the the most dangerous neighborhoods is Trinidad, NE D.C ...they had the check points bc they had 22 murders in that one neighborhood during the summer...they have to have just over 20k residents....FOr a section of a city has to be Anacostia D.C in ward 8 southeast....122 murders in that part of town in the murder cap years in the 90's thats almost as a major city in 1 part of southeast ..no more than 100k residents...62 murders in 2005......I would say D.C and New Orleans has some the worst neighborhoods simply bc they were the murder capitals back and forth for 20 years

I've driven through Anacostia DC at 12:30AM, with my family. My dad stopped and asked for directions at a market, we were lucky to get out untouched. We saw ambulens and heard police sirens the whole time driving through.

Is this thread for real? How can you even begin to answer this question with any modicum of accuracy? I'll give it a shot anyway : SE DC, North Philly and West Baltimore

During this decade, saying "lately" doesn't really make much sense as almost every major American city has made progress from their time in the 80s and 90s, including Philly

True, although in Philly's case the violent crime rate actually has gone up since the 80's and early 90's...one of the few cities to have that happen:

- 988.3
- 1,045.9
- 1,054.8
- 1,030.7
- 1,092.7
- 1,348.8
- 1,406.1
- 1,191.2
- 1,255.2
- 1,322.5
- 1,428.9
- 1,321.0
- 1,259.8
- 1,464.4
- 1,604.5
- 1,503.2
- 1,409.7
- 1,315.9
- 1,378.4
- 1,408.3
- 1,467.1
- 1,562.4
- 1,475.4
