1. NYC(Nation's Largest and most influential city)
2. Chicago( The Birth of Skyscrapers)
3. Washington D.C.(Nation's Capital)
4. Philadelphia( Birthplace of America)
5. San Francisco(Very Unique City)

I would suggest L.A. but most people would probably be dissapointed because Hollywood makes it seem like its all glamour and its really not.

Five cities -- and they must be cities, right? This is very tough one. Not easy at all to narrow down to five.

I would try to do a mix of large/small to show off our great country and all its diversity and natural beauty (and I recommend visits in Sept/Oct LOL)...in no particular order

1) NYC

2) Portland, OR

3) Charleston, SC

4) Austin

5) Chicago

Thats what I love about LA, its more tough, gritty, and rugged than what people think.

LA
NYC
SF Bay Area
Miami

#5 could be between San Juan (really underrated IMO), Honolulu, Boston, DC, Orlando, Las Vegas, or Chicago.

I think Las Vegas or Orlando would have to be top five. They have little value otherwise, but they are international (and domestic) tourism Meccas.

I agree they're tourist meccas and the number of flag carriers they have is well above their size IMO, add Honolulu in and make it a trio and each of the three have their own swagger IMO

Honolulu (for couples)
Las Vegas (for singles)
Orlando (for families)

It sucks that it should just be five because SF deserves to be in this list too.
America's history is in Philadelphia. Only a little D.C. But for real American history. Go to Philly!
