that 20 years could make. I just visited there last May. It looked NOTHING at all like it did in 1988.

I'd take the Albany winters over the Fort Myers summers any day.

FL is only extremely hot and humid from June-September (only 4 months). October-April it is bearable (8 months). Oct, Nov, and April, its dry warmth, very little rain, with highs in the 70s/low 80s so it doesn't feel bad. Jan Feb and March is when its perfect cool, sunny weather, when the highs rang from the 50s to the 70's and the lows range from the 50's to the 40s, sometimes 30s, and MAYBE once or twice a year it will get down in the 20s.

You can say that again. I had an argument yesterday with someone here on CD who thinks that the ENTIRE state of New York has only about 1,000 acres of wilderness. Apparently he thinks the Adirondack and Catskill parks are little holes in the ground!

What bugs me is all he had to do was look up Adirondack Park (or even the smaller Catskills) to see dozens of websites on the net to show he was wrong!

You have to admit when many people think of the words New York --- they think its entirely New York City. Other people think Illinois is nothing but Chicago. But I think the absolute worse stereotype is Michigan, too many people cannot get past Detroit, a relatively small part of the total land area of Michigan.

This is completely inaccurate, in fact utter fantasy. You have some breaks October through April, a couple of days in October and April but several hot humid and oppressive days in April, March, and October and even December. January and February are the only two months where its safe to say it is consistantly not hot, All other months have oppressive days. April 15 until October you don't get a seconds break, you never have a bearable day thrown in.

But what IS barerable. A lot of tourist come to Florida specifically for that type of weather. That's the best weather to do the NUMEROUS water activities Florida has to offer. The problem is people MANY people who DON'T like that weather try to make it sound as if EVERYONE hates that weather. It may be unbarable to some, but with numerous activities some people actually DO prefer that weather. Half of these activities would be UNBEARABLE if the weather wasn't the way it is in Fla. I may be a little confusing.

Obviously, for water activities if your goal is to come down for a week, then those temperatures would be ideal. The issue is far different for those that live there, and lets say want to go to an outdoor art show in March. You can easily get an 85 degree sunny day where you are uncomfortable to go to the art show. You can get an 80 degree muggy christmas. You have a six month stretch straight where if you don't like heat and humidity it is never comfortable to go outside, ever. It's all relative for purpose. I agree for water activities, can't be beat because those are best in extreme heat.

Agreed. Florida wouldn't be Florida if it didn't have the weather it has. Who wants to go to the beach and enjoy all the other outdoor activities in 50 degree weather???
