Its a behavior I've noticed everywhere in the last year or so. Its conservation, no doubt. I now go 65 in a 75mph zone (which is above minimum and perfectly legal), and my mileage has improved quite a bit. Ideally, I like to keep my r.p.m.'s at or under 2000.

I'm totally a side zoomer, and you should see how bad I am when i'm on my bike. I'll ride on the shoulder to bypass a traffic jam.

I think it's a matter of perspective, becasue I just moved here (from Oregon) and people keep passing me on the right. But really, what's the point of racing to the next red light?

Cheers

I'm a real stickler when it comes to the speed limit. I have driven slower if weather is bad, if I don't know the street, when looking for an address, lost or having a car problem.
I see no reason to drive any faster. Not like I drive an ambulance or police unit.

it's not you. Most of the people that I get behind are well established residents, who just mosey around like they have nowhere particular to go.

We need to start a recreational place for mosey drivers. We can call it Mosey Acres and supply golf carts and acreage of mosey driving fun.

I know what you mean and I hear from other people around me too. Drivers don't pay attention to the speed. They are busy talking on their phones, putting on makeup in the car, eating or whatever.

My big driver pet peeve is on Powers. The speed is 50 mph mostly. I like to go 55. You can get through the lights in the right timing by going between 50-55. But if you're behind slow cars on all sides of you all going the same speed, then you hit the lights. But the other issues is people pulling onto Powers. Did they not see their yield sign? I'm going 55 mph in the right lane when suddenly cars start pulling out from Carefree and expect that I should slow down for them to merge in. I didn't see the yield sign for me. That really irritates me. I'm always honking at that.

I grew up and learned to drive on the East coast. Then moved to Southern California and learned that style of driving and now here in Colorado. I just see that there and crazy drivers, impatient drivers, lazy drivers, inexperienced drivers, etc. We have it all in Colorado.

Okay, I can empathize, but the worst vehicle that you could ever get stuck behind is a Piaggio micro-truck in the Italian hills. Be thankful we don't have them here in the US. They're basically a 2cycle bike with a truckbed and they make make golf carts look like Beamers.
