ok So I got here half way into winter last year and didn't feel as if I felt the full gamut of weather....
so what do you guys think? cold and snowy, warm and wet, we got some good snow in springs but i dont know if that was normal or not... anyone help???

What David said. And why is that people can't go read some climate information--available in lots of place on-line (
Weatherbase and
Western U.S. Climate Historical Summaries , for example)--to see what is considered statistically normal? Instead, they'll read what people on an internet forum pontificate about it--many of them with little long-term history of a local climate upon which to base their observations.

Every location has it's own normal . Here in Grand Junction on the western slope, The normal mean temperature for the monh of December is 28.19 degrees. In December '09 the mean temperature for the mont of December was 17.85, almost 10 and a half degrees below normal . On the hot end of the spectrum, the normal mean temperature for the month of July is 76.74. In July of '07, the July mean was 81.66, almost 5 degrees above normal . The point is....fluctuations from normal is totally normal .

What is the point of giving a "mean" temp over an average..Yes i do know the difference.

The weather is ever-changing in Colorado, huh? Enjoy it!!!!! Just feel blessed to be there. I am stuck in Ohio. Boring. Flat. Sucky weather.

Be glad you're not in the San Juan Mountains this week,
they're due for 3-4 FEET of snow.
So far,
November has been quite snowy in the ski areas. They're loving it.
Here's
a report on the snowpack so far . Above average up north, below average in the SW part of COLO, though with 3-4 feet coming in soon, that may get the numbers back on track.
