Off topic enough? Ok back to the arguments!

I think the best way to deal with snow in Colorado is to know your limitations. For example even though I have lived in Colorado most of my life I know I could not or have any desire to live in a isolated mountain town or area. I don't want to have to worry about being trapped in my house for days because of a blizzard or where I am going to go shopping or see a movie or more importantly how long it will take to get to a trauma center in case of a emergency or how will I keep my house warm when the power is out. When the day comes I decide to get a cabin it will be a in a populated area of the mountains with most of the services I have in Pueblo.

Weather here has been in the single digits at night, so what snow melt there is, refreezes. Drove to Delta this morning, the county road I drive on was solid ice, wasn't until I got on HWY 92 I found dry pavement. Anyway, I've also learned another tip: Carry a bag of kitty litter, one of those camp shovels and a piece of cardboard in the trunk. Kitty litter for traction, shovel to dig yourself out if needed, cardboard makes something dry to kneel on. And although you may be driving just nifty, stopping is something entirely different as I saw when a guy slid through a 4 way stop today.
