Yes, it was a gorgeous evening with a fantastic, slow, soaking rain and yes, gorgeous this morning - good to be back in the 50s!

It didn't really rain much down in my neighborhood but it sure is sticky humid this morning!

I'm enjoying my final summer in Colorado. I've got the windows open with the whole house fan sucking in the free cool morning air.

We'll soon be heating up to the 90s so today I'll install a window AC in my family room. It's quite adequate to deal with the afternoon heat.

Then, at sunset I'll open the windows and turn on the whole house fan to expel hot attic air and suck in the cooling outside air. This is a far more efficient way to cool a house in Colorado.

I don't need central air here. I much prefer opening windows. I guess that's a part of my German heritage.
