Here are a few meetings regarding improvements to Millwood from Gervais to Devine Street. It certainly could use a boost. I would love for it to become more like Devine Street.. it skirts Melrose Heights, Shandon and Lower Waverly along with being very close to some higher income neighborhoods further east on Devine... That said, I doubt it will ever happen considering that it is the main route to SE Columbia and Garners Ferry Road.. Devine Street is able to look the way it does because Millwood takes most of the traffic up to Two Notch, Taylor, and Gervais St....

Huge Brewery planned for North Main. It could be the largest in the state.

That’s a few blocks from my house, so it’s quite exciting.

That pretty interesting. Especially considering the BBQ place at 2100 main pulled out.

I had always hoped that it could be something like this or a food hall. This is likely better especially if they do something like this www.union-collective.com

I didn't realize it was that large so this could work and create some synergy on that end of Main

I am now hopeful that something will happen with the old shopping center on River Drive and Sunset may see new life as well. Given the changing income demographics of Earlewood, Keenan Terrace and places like Hyatt Park and Seminary Ridge.. I am surprised that someone hasn't tried to turn that place back to a viable commercial use.. It was owned by the church that is across the street and listed for sale.. The listing is now gone (or I cant find it) so maybe someone has purchased it...

This year's Midlands Regional Competitiveness Report was released last month. Columbia maintained or increased its ranking in four of the five categories.

Looks like April 4th is your last chance to say your goodbyes to the Capital City Stadium.

Baseball fans can bid official farewell to Capital City Stadium

The April 4 celebration will feature venue tours that will highlight memorable moments in the stadium’s history, including the racial integration of baseball in the town. Free parking will be available behind the stadium by entering through the gate on Assembly Street.

Historic Columbia is partnering with independent filmmaker Lee Ann Kornegay for a documentary chronicling the stadium’s history. Kornegay will be on hand April 4 for visitors who want to share their stadium memories.

Anyone know what’s going on at the corner of kilbourne and fort Jackson Blvd? It looks like they are building a connector?

Man imagine what could of been there if it wasn't a good plain. Basically the downtown skyline would of liked much different.

Wild life expo, theme park, office towers etc.

I wonder if there's a way to raise the land around it to make it comply to not be in a flood plain anymore and then develop on that.
