The difference b/w Stamford train service and NYC is unless one works next to the station in Stamford, Metro North is worthless. Same with every other local Ct train station.

Amazon is playing hardball everywhere. They are closing a large DC in suburban Dallas in retaliation for TX forcing the retailer to collect sales tax.

If you tax them too harshly, they won't come.

Not true , look at some of the NJ towns and cities , companies like Train stations and transit connections. These days Suburban office parks aren't doing as greatly as there Urban or transit connected cousins.... Theres a growing movement of companies from the suburbs to these areas... Not everyone wants to be based in NYC hench why White Plains and New Brunswick are selling companies relocate to them or open a second office. Idk what Stamford issue is , its not the location or the time it takes to get to NYC there are other fringe cities doing better... Its not the threat of Tax increases , IL is still seeing jobs added.... Its not the Transit , or Roads....it must be something else.

Expansion? Where? Do you mean more stations on the EXISTING lines? Where would they expand to, go from New Haven or Waterbury to Hartford? Or from Poughkeepsie to Albany?

And what do you mean by "the price will drop once all projects are completed"? If you mean they'll lower fares I don't think that has EVER happened.......

To another poster (bobtn I believe): Yes I think if they were private they'd be out of business but it also means we'd be Los Angeles. You think 95 and the Merritt are bad the way it is?

You missed East Bridgeport on that list. The city wants to build it on the old Remington Arms site. Jay

I'm tired of their excuses, and I'm tried of the sheeple who defend them, who don't ride those trains everyday. If they were private, they'd be out of business 10X over.
I suppose you do your job at 100% percent.

That figure came from the former manager of service for Metro North who is a friend of mine. He did not have the latest number but it is around 93% according to him. He also noted that in China if a train si late, the transit offical must visit the Director of Transportation and appologize in person. Very anal. Jay
