This is the only "head banging" animation I can find. Picture me in the drivers seat but the head actually hitting the Streering wheel..

THATS HOW TRAFFIC WAS AT 5:15!!

Yeah it was a friken mess.. I made a mistake of leaving the house at like 5;30.. I swear a drop of rain causes a 27 mile delay from the ramp at exit 2.

HEADS UP.

Confirmed fatal accident on I-95 Northbound at exit 47.. ALL LANES CLOSED. Traffic backed up to Exit 42.

They hope to have them open by 7:30am.

Tractor Trailer caught fire and went down enbankment.

I believe this is the camera from the location.

Edit::: Looks like 1 lane now opened but could be closed again for ongoing investigation

[quote=Cambium;24241502]Quality of Life Destroyed. No matter what time of day.

5/10/12 - 10:30am - Merrit South Exits 42-37.

This week has been especially bad on the roads. There was the fatal truck accident yesterday that closed the road for hours. This morning I heard that a truck hit an overpass in Milford (this is happening a lot lately) and backed traffic up to exit 41. Shortly after there was an accident at exit 45 in New Haven with a 4-mile backup, as I was passing the electronic sign (luckily on Frontage Rd. that was not backed up) the sign changed to 4-1/2 mile backup. I feel so sorry for people who have to commute with this chaos every day. That was me till last year. Some days it took me 45 minutes to go 3 miles from Frontage Rd. in East Haven to downtown New Haven. If I tried to take the route 1 alternative, I could count on the Tomlinson Bridge opening and delaying everyone by 15 minutes or so. Then the DOT had the brilliant idea to close the entrance to route 34 entrance on Brewery St., so if I did take the Tomlinson Bridge I had to weave thru downtown traffic. I would arrive at work a wreck already. I left a year early, with a smaller pension and lower Social Security, but you can't put a price on all that aggravation.

Good luck to all who have to drive these roads every day.

Looks like my commute every morning from Exit 48-44 Merritt SB.......
May is here and it seems the traffic patterns are shifting to delays once again. I enjoyed no traffic from December until May at least........
I cant for the life understand why it changes suddenly from this time right through the summer. Makes no sense.
Exit 48-44 Merritt SB morning.......Traffic every morning 25-35 minutes sometimes to go 4 miles
Exit 39-42 OR 44 Merritt NB evening ........Those are guaranteed nightmares daily.....

Horrible photos - reminds me of the bad old days when I was in a mess like that every afternoon. I don't know what causes these backups. Sometimes it is just the littlest thing, really. That kind of aggravation has to be bad for people to endure day after day.
