Lets see what the GFS and Euro do tonight with Isaac.

NH will end up August with another month of above average temperatures. Who would have guessed. It seems like the negative NAO is not conducive to cooler than average temperatures in the Northeast these days, particularly the warmer months.

Correct. Negative NAO does not have the "cooling" inpacts in the summer as it does in the winter. However, because of the Negative NAO temps have stayed mostly in the 80s. If we had a ridge over us we would be seeing 90s mostly. So thanks to the Negative NAO it does help keep temps tamed so to speak.

Default Possible Tropical Storm end of August

Can we blame kidyankee if this happens? Latest GFS has coastal flooding and rains up to 5" total in 2 days time. Strong NorthEast breeze too. A shift west from here and all of CT will feel the effects.. Stay tuned. Euro has Isaac going straight up to the heartland and dissipating. So GFS is alone with this.

Morning Jay: was just thinking...it would be fun to start a thread about hurricanes since the season has begun. I love the Connecticut Weather thread but have no clue how to branch off and start a Hurricane thread. Perhaps the weather buffs on here can start one??? Thanks.

Morning. Usually if a major storm happens a seperate thread is created to condense everything about that storm in one thread. But before it happens its speculation and forecasts which would be here. And since not all hurricanes affect CT it would be off topic for the forum.

If you want a "Hurricane" thread try the weather forum. :-)

Have you seen the Irene thread that was created in CT last year? And yes, I love this thread too. :-)

Click on Hurricane thread here. http://www.city-data.com/forum/weather/

LOL.

5" of rain will be disastrous in the areas that were inundated last week. We had major flooding all over the place in Branford.
