Remember, the entire nation is basically shut down. It’s not just Fairfield County that will suffer.

Exactly. I get that this is the Connecticut forum but to act like this is only going to affect Fairfield County or only Connecticut, NY and California because they have bigger numbers of (diagnosed) cases is foolish. This is a US and global economic crisis.

All I keep thinking about is that the economy was being driven by consumers. Now consumers are pulled from shopping.
Not sure if online sales and essential items will make up for it but it will probably be the fastest drop from being great to recession I can remember. Such ashame.

Buy a large cap indexed mutual fund. Buy into the index - blue chip mutual fund so you’d get a piece of all blue chip stocks, which are depressed.

I do alot of online shopping and some selling online and people are not buying anything. I'm not buying anything unless I'm grocery shopping. I think it's a toss up because people dont wanna spend extra money on things being stuck in the house but people that are stuck are buying things to help them make it through there time being in the house. Clothes/shoes stores will suffer the most

Stock buying is a good choice, things will eventually get better and these prices haven't been seen in years. I think Monday I'm going to hunt far expiry (6+ months) calls in companies I think will weather the storm well enough.I know people trying to play VXX and VIX that will get eaten by any upswing next few weeks though.
