When two similar corps merge, expect to hear stuff like synergies, a/k/a duplicity of operations, which means we do not need two H/R, accounting, maintenance departments. We need one.
Keep in mind that it's not UFC buying WWE - it's Endeavor, the parent of UFC, buying WWE and combining them into one publicly traded company.

Articles have noted that "synergy efficiencies" will be about $200 million over 5 years. But note that when Endeavor invests in a company, it often leaves the existing office in place. WWE and UFC may keep their operations distinct.

It would be very disruptive to move them from Stamford, and I'm not sure what the advantage would be. They're investing a lot into that space and get a tax credit.

A lot of great news for Connecticut’s economy, not only are we again No. 1 for per capita income but our state ranked No. 17 in economic growth. What make that significant is that we do not have a high population growth to fire that growth.

In addition to all that, State Comptroller Sean Scanlon is projecting that the state will have a $1.42 billion surplus this fiscal year. Great news, Jay

I fear cuts as what the $200 mill translate to, not extinction. 51% and 99% are the same, as 51% controls Board of Directors.

Companies cut all the time. Especially in this weird economy. I don’t think you should worry about it.

I just hope WWE headquarters doesn't move like the XFL did when they were purchased.

The XFL jobs went away 3 years ago when the league filed for bankruptcy so I doubt anyone was affected.

157 jobs to be lost as Serta Simmons is closing its South Windsor plant.

In addition, Schuco USA of Newington cut 95 fabrication jobs, in a WARN notice filed two days earlier. They cited supplu chain issues so are reducing their presence in that sector.

Interesting article that touches on new hotels here in Connecticut. Greenwich Hospitality Group has announced the start of two new luxury Delmar Hotels in Westport and Mystic Seaport. It also discusses proposed hotels in Bridgeport’s Steel Point and new hotels in New Haven and South Windsor. Interestingly it does not mention a proposed hotel at Fairfield Metro Center. Wonder why?
