Doesn't look warm to me for end of April. Seasonable at best. Staying in the 50s? But keep in mind if that sun is out you'll feel the strength of it so it might feel warmer on your skin then the actual air temp.

Enjoy today!
There is a good chance that in Central Park it will be the first April since 2000 to not have a high at or over 80 degrees (I got this from a weather blog I follow, they also note that it was more common in the past, that pre-2000 the average was once every 4-5 years or so). Newark has been over 80 this month but none of the other tri-state stations have.

Doesn't feel much like April at all. Trees around here haven't even started to bloom.

Interesting! I am in Marlborough and my maple trees have the starts of buds on them, forsythia is blooming, my lilac has green buds...it finally feels like April to me!

That's true, NYC has hit 80 every April since 2001. But they only hit it once on average using all years on record.

Maybe a more interesting stat is that Bridgeport CT has gone over 63°F more than 6 times in April since 2001. In other words, the max temps have been warmer than 63°, 7 or more times each April since 2001. So far only 6 times it's been above that. 9 more days left. (year 2000 only 4 times it went above 63°)

Yup...it doesn't. We're about 1 week later than last year and 2 weeks later than normal. You can see the buds up close but the blooms are only select few like Lilacs, Forsythias, Magnolia trees. Pretty weird to have an end of August sun angle and in general bare trees.

I took this of the Merritt yesterday. Doesn't look like Spring at all.

Buds, Blooms & leafed out are different stages. We should have more blooms by now and bigger buds. Once the process starts it cant be reversed but it can be slowed down or sped up.

Graphic I made..

Normal amount of days warmer than 62F is 8. So we're not that far off. Most was 17. Least was 1 in 1980. WOW. That sounds like a cold April then.

GFS12z for Danbury, CT near here.

Not something you want to see going into May now... there should be more double digit temps in there.

This is looking more and more like a cool next couple weeks.

Interesting Observation from the 2pm OBS. The only states without a Climo site at 70° or warmer in the East are.... Vermont, Maine and ...Connecticut.

I love this state. lol
