The average blue collar worker can't afford the high-brow lifestyle they're promoting here.

But as you already pointed out, Stamford offers plenty of less expensive options.

Update on the new Stamford Police Department. They are placing the details on the facade. By the looks of things, I think the end result will be much better than the renders.

Curley's has been around for decades, resisted $$$$$ for its prime location, and I don't think Maria is going anywhere soon. Bullshead is an institution. And so is Lakeside and their fabulous pancakes. Stamford is far more blue collar than any of its neighbors. Even on boogie Bedford Street, there's Lucky's Burgers. And lots of Latin and cheap eats places everywhere.

I went down to Harbor Point in Stamford today. I had not been down in that area in 6 years. All I have to say is WOW, WOW, WOW. I was blown away. The construction that is on going is amazing too. I bet within 10 years there won't be any low income people left in the south end....or maybe even all of Stamford after seeing what I did today.

As you drive down Washington one side is perfectly landscaped with high end cars parked on the street while the other side has people sitting on the sidewalk drinking beer out of brown paper bags. Only a matter of time for the lower income continued being pushed further north.

I'm not a fan personally. It has a weird feel with buildings mixed with parking lots, wide roads, etc. Reminds me of new construction in the sun belt.
