The Broccolli are in the ground. But I'm going to have to shade them since they are a cool weather crop. Didnt think I'd had to shade them in April. Go figure.. lol

Instead of bringing them inside to keep warm, I should have left them in cups to bring them inside to keep cool.

Forecast highs for today was low 70s, I see we hit mid 70s.

Lastest NAM left, GFS right for tomorrow highs.

Obviously NAM is warmer. Lets see who wins. Either way, add a couple degrees since ground is dry.

Looks like a little rain heading into the state. Lets see how much makes it to the ground.

One thing that will break up this weak band is a Sea Breeze. If there's enough force from the ocean, it will break apart the clouds before they get half way into CT.

NWS may be agreeing with you, they are now showing 93 for NYC and Danbury tomorrow and 89 even for Bridgeport!

I for one owe you an apology…I thought you were definitely wrong about seeing 90’s in the greater Tri-State area this April. 80’s in April south of New England (below Mass/Boston) is not unheard of - though I didn’t think we would even see 80’s again either. 70’s I expected to see on and off with the warm and dry pattern.

I spent the day digging in the bamboo grove. My high temp hit 74 F (in the shade), but with the sun – it felt more like 85 F (lol). I felt like I was working some tropical farm in Jamaica – lol. I loved every minute of it though.

The coming days look even hotter....at this rate it will be 115 F by late July.

Killed a lot of spiders while humming a tune in the garden. If those old wives were right then that rain is the epic part of the tale. Lol. The whole time I kept having to remind myself...no you're not behind the weather is ahead...Cramming it all in...crazy!!!

It's not rare for interior New England to reach hotter temperatures than the coast in spring heat waves, well at least Long Island which is probably a bad comparison. The last several springs we've done quite well at hitting 90°F in April; and I think Long Island missed it. 90°F forecast for me tomorrow; 79°F for my parent's in Long Island (NW Suffolk County). Of course, Eastern PA or maybe NJ would be the better comparison.

These warm spring days are a nice gift.
