What a strange story. It happened 13 years ago and they are bringing it up now? Someone must have had an ax to grind. Newscaster lie ALL the time or at least stretch the truth. It is all about hype and shock value to sell advertising and people are focusing on some 13 year old lie? Really? Most stories are partly fabricated to sell ads, which makes networks money. EVERYTHING is about money, not truth.
actually the lie resurfaced recently because Brian Williams couldn't keep his story straight - happens when tell lies - you forget what you said from one lie to another. If you can't trust the anchor for a toprated news show to tell the truth, who can you trust?
President Lyndon B Johnson was awarded a silver star for being on an inspection trip during WWII and the plane was attacked. He was riding in the back. The pilots and crew got nothing.
If we paid attention to all the lies and agendas that fill the media, we shut the entire media mess down. That would be great, but to single this guy out amongst the sea of bs artists, it is sort of silly. Look at Murdoch's fox news bs machine. Talk about agendas and filled with slanted news and we are focusing on Williams? Are you kidding me???? I guess if we focus on some silly little moronic recollection by Williams it will take the focus away from the likes of the billionaire Murdoch.

You need to go back and read about his HISTORY of lying that I and other posters touched on. You think "focusing on" Williams after that is silly? That tells us a lot about you. Brian Williams has been dancing too long.

Yet despite what you say, NBC was forced to essentially fire Williams, the #1 news reader on TV. They don't think it is silly at all.
