This thread is about a 30 year patrol veteran a month away from retiring for good...and being murdered for protecting someone's property from burglary
Its not about the NRA and someones ability to have a gun...that debate is better served in a new thread
When we as a society detach from the murder of someone we charge to protect us I have fear for our future
This will be an intense investigation... these men will be caught
Sometimes I wish for the simple justice of historical western law
So, in this instance that would have entailed pinning this crime on the first suspect that happened along, taking him out and stringing him up. Which, of course, would have been the cold-blooded murder of an innocent person, because we now know that this criminal cop killed himself.
That's precisely what happens with extrajudicial punishment - you get the wrong person a lot more often. But I think you're fine with that. You simply revere the iron fist that represents the authority of the state. As long as people are being sufficiently cowed and intimidated, you're fine with innocent people being strung up, aren't you?
Well, I mean, except for cops. When the finger is pointed at them, you don't want mob rule. Your kind are the untouchables. You inflict punishment while being immune from it, right?
You were born in the wrong place, notmeofficer. You'd have been right at home in East Germany or the USSR, where inconvenient things like the Bill of Rights wouldn't have hindered the placing of your boot on the throat of whoever you thought 'had it coming'.
If you shoot yourself in the heart, you're screwed.
the coroner spoke at the news conference, both shots were at very close range. the first shot hit his cell phone and didn't penetrate his vest. the second shot was from above and entered his chest underneath his vest. it hit his lung, did some severe damage to a major blood vessel attached to the lung and exited his body where it was stopped by the inside of his vest. he didn't die immediately and bled to death.
The death of Fox Lake, Illinois, police Lt. Joe Gliniewicz was "a carefully staged suicide," Lake County Major Crimes Task Force commander George Filenko said Wednesday. "This staged suicide was the end result of extensive criminal acts that Gliniewicz had been committing." Gliniewicz was under increasing levels of stress from scrutiny into what the investigators found to be criminal activity, Filenko said. The officer had been stealing and laundering money from the police department program that mentored young people hoping to become law enforcement officers, Filenko said. Gliniewic was a leader in that program, and had been stealing money for at least seven years, he said. The investigation found that the officer -- who had experience creating mock crime scenes -- staged his suicide to make it look like a homicide.
Reportedly white. Let's wait to see if they're actually white, and if so, what their role was in this event. It's pretty hard to misidentify an obviously black man as anything other than black, but fair-skinned blacks, mixed-race people, Arabs, etc., can be misidentified as white.
In any case, the point is still valid that BLM seems to be increasing the trend of violence against whites and against police officers. And the black crime rate is significantly greater than the white crime rate to begin with. So if this happens at such a disproportionate rate, you can easily see why some may jump to conclusions. Still, a single event neither makes nor breaks a trend.
none of these types will be back here again, there's other threads to throw up on
Yeah figures. I just really want to know which is more dangerous and a menace to society - an imaginary black thug or 2 unconfirmed lighter skin toned, kinda might be but not really white ones OR a white thief who took advantage of those he was sworn to protect and a disgrace to all those who wear the badge.
Just like some non-LEOs are criminals, some LEOs are criminals. It's high time they stop getting a free pass from the usual suspects who dissemble and excuse their crimes and run interference for them.
